Hey everyone, it’s time for the Weekend Send-Off, the place where you can leave your thoughts, feedback, and suggestions. Oh! and let’s not forget ze love list for the week!
The past few months have been nothing short of a blur as the holidays came and went at break-neck speed, leaving a path of consumer destruction. I’ve been left feeling bedraggled, worn-out, and just plain tired. Whew! I sure am glad they’re over! I have never really been much a holiday person. In my opinion, winter is for slowing down and taking it easy. Not this rushing around nonsense.
To me, winter is the time for deep rest and nourishment as the dark winter months slowly creep by.
To me, winter is the time for reflection, slow collective breaths, inner growth, and meditative thoughts. Thoughts of spring, sunlight, and the smell of jasmine blooming near the kitchen window. The smell of RAIN and snow. the sound of nothing. I miss that. I guess it’s the price you pay when you live near a big city like Los Angeles.
Despite it all I can’t wait for spring to arrive. We finally had a couple of rain storms a few weeks ago and I had a strong urge to run out into it, face upward and spinning so that I could soak it all in. The lack of rain here has been disturbing to say the least and I’ve been yearning for some GREEN things to start growing again.
Even though I’m waiting for warmer, sunnier days, i still have much love for the winter months and so….on to the love list!
- Nourishing Herbal Hot Chocolates.
These have been so good! Rich, nourishing, and warming all at once and ever changing with my mood. Try it with reishi, chaga, maca, or chai spices with cacao.
2. London Fog
One of my most favorite favorite teas! Just steep your best loose leaf earl grey in almond milk with a bit of cream and honey. So good!
3. Not-Valentines Day!
Keeping with tradition, on Valentine’s Day my boyfriend and I simply spend the day together and cook dinner like we always do. No chocolates or cards, just us, as happy as can be.
What’s your love list this week? I hope you had an awesome weekend!
